Back in 1975 when the Vietnam War was near an end, two people not that far apart left Vietnam fearing the worst. What could happen next? It was worst enough that they had to leave their country. The two people were named Hung Hoang and Hoa Nguyen. Hung and Hoa left their town of Saigon not knowing if they would meet each other again.

Hung left on a boat with about 4 thousand people. The boat was very big and could barely fit everyone. There the boat was in the middle of no where. Soon after this horrifing trip about 15 kids and 20 adults died and the little ship met with a giantic trip from Denmark. It was four stories high and very beautiful. The ship easily held the 4 thousand people and brought them to Hong Kong, which was then owned by England. After 4 months an airplane came to fly all the people to the Arksas. He was finally here in the land of the free. There Hung stayed, and then he moved to Texas.

Hoa left in a boat to the U.S territory of Guam which was just 2600 miles from Saigon. The she stayed for 5 to 6 months and then she headed in an airplane on the way to Florida. There she stayed for 5 to 6 months. Then she moved over to Texas and lived there with her family.

In Texas, Hung heard from a friend that Hoa was living in Texas. He got her address and then wrote her a letter. She wrote back and then he decided to visit her. After a year, they fell in love and got married. A couple of months later the newly weds left Texas in hope of a better life in California.

There in California Hoa gave birth to a baby girl in there first home, an apartment building at the very top floor. They named the baby girl Helen. Later they moved over to Santee in San Jose and gave birth to another girl and named her Huong. Later on they gave birth to a boy named Quoc and then a year later moved to Cedar Glen in Campbell. There they gave birth to a girl name Kim and then a boy named Solomon.
